This summer we are offering 3 super exciting camps!  We have a truly incredible line-up of coaches coming to the camps. These coaches represent what many would consider to be some of the best coaches the USA has to offer.  The Staff will be slightly different at each camp and may offer something just a little different for the participant.  These outstanding coaches were sought out to coach at VaultWorX because their programs reflect a similar model and encouraging styles that VaultWorX strives for every day.

Featured Coaches:

Coach San Hensh - Pole Vault Coach at West Virginia University.

Coach Hensh coached at the VaultWorX camp this past December.  He is "fired up"!!  Just a few years at WVU has seen the program take a huge step forward and is quickly making a name for himself as a knowledgeable and passionate coach.  He has a unique and detailed insights of how to get the most out of your run and plant.  We can't wait to hear him ask for "just one more coffee" as he brings super passion and intensity to every session.

San Hensh has a lifetime best of 16'6".  In high school, he was a multi-year PA State medalist and PA State Champ.  His high intensity coaching, with a heavy dose of encouragement has produced outstanding results including a female collegiate vaulter with a PR of 14' and numerous high school state medalists in just a few short years.

Coach Matt Concannon - Head Coach and Founder of VaultWorX

VaultWorX was founded in Coach Concannon's backyard in 2010.  With the support of mentoring from coaches like Bob Phillips to develop our technical model, the VaultWorX Staff, and many area coaches; many VaultWorX athletes have improved and achieved amazing results.  Along the way, the athletes have won numerous State titles in both PA and MD, including several State Meet Records in both States.  VaultWorX athletes are represented on the National level each year and are also represented among the top collegiate programs in the country.

Coach Bob Phillips - Pole Vault Coach Virginia Tech

Former Virginia Tech All-American Bob Phillips is in his 31st year as coach of the Hokie pole vaulters. During that time, the vault program at Virginia Tech has risen to national prominence and to the top of the ACC. In the ten years of ACC membership, seventeen different Virginia Tech vaulters have qualified to the NCAA national championships a total of 45 times where they have earned All-America honors 34 times including three silver and two bronze medals. In that same time period, Tech vaulters have claimed 51 ACC conference medals including 26 ACC conference vault titles, more than all other schools in the ACC combined. In all, Phillips has coached 37 vaulters (26 men, 11 women) to conference championships since joining the staff, one junior national champion, seven NCAA medalists (top 3), and one qualifier to the IAAF World Championships.

While competing at Tech, Phillips set the school record in the indoor and outdoor vault. He was a four-time NCAA national qualifier and was named an All-American in 1980. Phillips was also a member of the U.S. National Team that took on Great Britain in 1984 and competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials in July of that year. He was inducted into the Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 1999. Phillips has coached vaulters to 37 conference championship titles and was also a three-time Metro Conference, four-time indoor Virginia collegiate and four-time outdoor Virginia collegiate champion.

MORE ABOUT COACH BOB PHILLIPS HERE. http://www.hokiesports.com/staff/phillips.b.html

Coach Phillips has played a huge role in the development of the technical model at VaultWorX.  He is a coaching mentor to me and has become a part of the Concannon family as a regular in our house.  We are honored each time he visits us and welcome him to our Summer Staff.

Matt Concannon - Founder and Head coach of VaultWorX.  Coach Concannon had the pleasure to directly coach the top athletes at VaultWorX who achieved the following results in 2017:  Between MD and PA and the different school divisions...VaultWorX had 6 different athletes who were State Champions. Katie Jones achieved the All-time best jump in PA with a clearance of 13'9.25" and was also Indoor National Champion and Runner-up in the Outdoor Nationals.  There were also several District Records set along with several All-Time District Records set.   2018 has already seen 2 guys jump over 16' and 1 girl over 13'3"...and the best is yet to come.

Joe Sarra - State College High School
It will be hard to achieve at this camp...but Coach Joe just might be the most fired up coach in the room.  Widely regarded as one of the best vault coaches in PA...I would go a step further and say he is one of the best high school coaches in the country.  We have been very fortunate to have Joe on the staff of VaultWorX for the last year.  His State College athletes were all young this year...with his top girl only a sophomore jumping 12'6" and an underclassman boy jumping 14'9".  In Joe's short tenure at State College...his best male vaulter put up one of the all time best jumps in PA with a jump of 16'3 and his best girl ranks among the all time best with a jump of 12'9".  Joe could easily be leading a vault program at any D1 school in the country.  He also is sought after to coach at national meets and camps like the Reno PV Summit and Sky pole vault camp in Arizona.

Katie Jones - 2017 Indoor National PV Champion, Four time PA State Champ, set records at almost every meet she jumped in, and is the All-time best female vaulter in PA history.  Beyond all that...Katie is one of the most intense and positive people you will ever be around.  She has a complete understanding of the vault and has already been noted as a great pv coach.  She will be loved by the lucky campers who get to work with her!  **Update to Katie's bio...after camp 1, a parent (who is also a track coach) said he was shocked to hear Katie coaching.  He said he would have guessed she had spent the last year studying to be a coach rather than an athlete.  We also received several emails noting how much their child loved working with Katie.  Good stuff right there!!

**The coaches we invite to coach at Camps are the best of the best.  They are picked because of their coaching ability and their ability to encourage and achieve improvement in the athletes.  I could not be more happy for the coaches we will have on staff for this camp!
